Jacquie Hood Martin

Dr. Jacquie Hood Martin, PhD, is owner of J. Hood & Associates “A Life Management Firm™, which is a professional development 501(c)3 public charity. Her company offers entrepreneurship and leadership training, DiSC Analysis & Personality Assessments, Coaching Certifications, and strategic planning services to individuals, companies, organizations, and government partners. Dr. Jacquie and her husband Roland S. Martin are advocates in education creating the initiative School Choice is the Black Choice to help children, parents, educators, administrators, advocates, and legislators understand the role intentional education plays in society.

Hood Martin is a former Dean of Career Programs, and College Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs within the City Colleges of Chicago system, embracing the journey of adult learners. She has taught early childhood, and served on the NAEYC team for collegiate Childhood Education curriculum writers. She has been named three consecutive years as Cambridge Who’s Who Education Professional of the Year. Hood Martin has led efforts as an early childhood specialist of children ages 2-5 years old citing “that the formative years of a child’s existence is the most impressionable period of life where they learn critical skills for future success.” In her community efforts, she has led educational progress in Chicago’s Black Start Parent’s University, helping parents help their children in education, social and emotional engagement, and advocacy. 

Holding degrees in management, education, and religion, Hood Martin’s well-rounded approach to leadership, communication, and engagement afford her the ability to resonate with all audiences and education levels. A sought after speaker, preacher, trainer, and thought-leader. In 30-year career, Hood Martin continues to enlighten each person she reaches.
